which Aluminum radiator to buy

I have a 68 Charger R/T 440 Automatic car that I want to put an aluminum radiator in. I have searched the forum before and could find threads on Aluminum radiators but for some reason none are showing up at all. I have tried several section for this search with no results. Can any one send me a link to some threads or reccomend a good Aluminum radiator that is reasonably priced. This is only a daily driver (well rougher than driver quality) so not looking for a $500.00 Radiator. Thanks guys

Depending if your going for a stock looking one, or not, but here is a stock looking one.  I'm putting one in my Coronet soon.  Just painted it black and it looks great!  I picked it up for $275.

Don't buy from U.S. Radiator, mine leaked when it was new, they only give you a 90 day warranty. I paid $80 to have the POS fixed come to find out, U.S. Radiator left solder in the tubes.

Thanks for the thread links Johnnycharger and 1970 Moparman. I think for the price diffrence I will go with the cheaper radiator.

Definitely not a "cheaper" option but I'm very happy with the radiator that Wizard Cooling made for my GL. Enough so that my other build will get one from Wizard as well. For the GL I bought an entire package including a fan shroud, electric fans, thermostat switch, and wiring. Ended up being a great combo.

It's been perfect since day 1. I think that the trick is to have a really good shroud and quality fans that move plenty of air. My fans have a few automatic triggers that will power them on; engine temp, A/C pressure (at dryer, this is mainly a failsafe), A/C compressor (when the compressor is on, I have the fans trigger on to help keep pressure down). I also have a wire that I can ground to keep them on just in case but that hasn't been necessary.

I'll try to get some pics of my setup for you later tonight. I've been very happy with it.

Pictures suck, sorry, it was dark and I'm short on time. You can see the general idea though.

Fans are a high performance dual 12" configuration. I forget the brand/model but they're fairly common (can even easily source on Amazon). I can get you this info if you'd like.

The overflow runs to a recirculation tank that I mounted out front and mounted behind the grill.







Note how the shroud completely encompasses the radiator. I could have added seals but but figured that this would be more than adequate. The way that the shroud is constructed the fans can either be mounted inside or outside. The better option is to mount the fans outside but I didn't have quite enough clearance to do so. I tried to move the passenger side one out but even after trimming the fan a bit, I was about 1/4" away from being comfortable. Still, this setup has worked great for me thus far.

As pictured above, I'm running a pair of these for a total maximum air flow of roughly 3,000 CFM with a current draw of about 27 amps. I have each fan wired into it's own dedicated 30a relay with a 15a fuse on the hot wire from the battery. Relays are triggered via an ignition hot and various ground inputs (see above).

I was very happy with Griffin Radiators. They were very friendly very helpful anytime you have any questions they recommend you call the price was decent I think I paid around six or $700 for an exact fit had no problems installing all the holes mounted up I would buy from them again
