Headlight vacuum lines in C500

As you can see in the pic mine have been cut at about 18 1/2'' from the body plug while the line with the green stripe has not. Is this correct ?
The vac lines in the grill have also been cut, I think this is correct as my grill is original & unrestored. Anyone got any pics of theirs ?

If you're referring to the '69 Charger 500, which I think you are,,, there's no set pattern ( unless Danny has a clue ) on the cutting of the vacuum lines. I have seen them were they were cut up by the battery and to the other extreme like my two previous C500's, by the firewall.... If you feel like these are the original lines to your car, I would mimic what you have or just clean them up with some Simple Green and reinstall...

Yeah, 69 Charger 500, I'll just clean & paint these not paying nearly $400 (everything costs double by the time it reaches England ) for some vac lines that I'm gonna cut & don't actually do anything on the car.

Conventional wisdom is that the earlier the car, the longer the vacuum lines are.

Every original car I have seen the lines are not cut at all. Every car I have seen with them cut at the firewall, it was done by previous owners or current owner. Once they see that those lines are not doing anything people tend to get them out of the way.

Survivor cars I have seen all have full hoses, and vacuum canister still in place. My car still has hoses running up over radiator support, and they nearly drag the ground.
