What it says in the title really. Its well out of my price bracket but was curious to know what you experts thought of it. Been for sale for quite a long time. £55k is about $85,000.....but Chargers are a lot of money over here. A rusty shell in need of a full resto will set you back about $15000!!! LOL
Cheers!

No pics and too many unknowns for anyone to even guess. Is it real and documented or a clone?

I'm almost certain that some GLs had the trim, and some did not.

Vinyl top trim?

It should be there on any Georgia-era car or any late Cali (wide pushbar) car.  A few of the early Cali cars were missing the trim or had it sprayed over orange.

If I was gonna pick apart the car in the pics, I would point out that the front (chrome) bumper has the late-1969-style bumprettes that stick up higher.  They force a wide GL pushbar into the wrong place.  The wide pushbar ends up too low & far out in front.  Those bumprettes should have been yanked off or swapped for the lower style ones.

General Lee's don't look right without the trim.

I personally like the 2nd car better.

Both of the cars linked look to have been well done, at least on the surface. As always, you need to look at them pretty close to know for sure.

I'm almost certain that some GLs had the trim, and some did not.

I did a ton of research in what was "correct" when I built my GL and all that I can say is that there is no "correct" way to build a clone. That said, I don't recall coming across any that didn't have the vinyl trim. As far as I'm concerned, having the trim is one of the "must haves" when building a GL and any GL without the trim is missing something (in my opinion, of course). My profile picture was taken a few days before I finished installing all my trim and it still bothers me every time I look at it. New pictures will come this spring.

That said, another "must have" is the brown (early) or light tan (later) interior and I decided to do mine in black instead. My reasoning was 2-fold; I already owned TWO complete black interiors (and was not looking forward to the prospect of buying another) and, personally, I like the black interior better. I actually love the way that the black interior fits with the orange paint job and the black 01s, it looks really sharp. If the studio wouldn't have needed a lighter interior for filming purposes, I honestly think that the black interior would have been a better fit for the car. In my research, I was able to find a few GLs with black interiors but none of these featured any interior shots (that I recall) which would, thus, make black "incorrect".

I'll be the first to admit that almost nobody cares if you have something on your GL that is "incorrect". My car actually spans a few eras between the push bumper, cross flags, GENERAL LEE font/color, and flag color and nobody has noticed. I built it exactly how I wanted to and have a car that I love as a result. As far as the general public is concerned, they LOVE the car and I have yet to have anybody give me grief about "incorrect" this or "non-era matching" that or, blah, blah. Quite honestly, unless in your in a Mopar crowd, they don't know any different. The vast majority of them don't even know that the GL is a Dodge! LOL

Too be honest I was more asking what you thought of them as Chargers rather than GLs.....I have no plans to build a GL because as much as I like them there are probably more GL clone Chargers in the U.K. than non GL Chargers!......I really don't want to be driving another one. As I said they are too much money for me anyway.....and for someone like me it's all about the build....so no way would I be buying a finished one!.....even if I could afford it.

As Chargers, and considering the prices are in British pounds, the second one is closer to a realistic price imo.
