Trunk pan 2 piece questions

So, I can't find the guys thread with the '69 rebuild, I was going to canvas his page for ideas...

But, oh well if it got deleted.

I'm about to weld in my two piece trunk pan in my 70.

I've prepared the frame rails, repaired the wheel-wells, and already mock fit the trunk together. I scored the lining of the rails on the bottom of the trunk pans.

The lap weld... how has anyone else done this? What's the best approach.

I had recorded where all mounts go on top and bottom of the trunk, but they've faded after 4 years of waiting... so if anyone has some measurements for me, that would be amazing!
Gas tank mounts
Spare tire mount
And rear bumper mounts.

Anything major I've missed? I have to still drill spot weld holes, and get self-tapping screws... but I think I'm finally ready. I'm so excited for this, moving forward.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Has anyone done a 2 piece AMD trunk pan? How did you lap weld it... both sides? Top side only?

I have a build thread for my 69 that covers some of this (I think). I used a 2 piece pan and drilled holes every 2" down the seam. Then used a combination of screws and clecos to hold everything nice and tight. Then removed every other screw/cleco and welded it down. If you get it tight you'll have a very nice seam that you can either seam seal and cover or finish weld and bodywork. Hope this helps.

What were the measures for the gas tank braces? I had mine recorded on masking tape and they faded after wait 4 years.
Or did you just eye them up?

I had the sections of old flooring so I never measured just lined them up the same. If I remember correctly they'll line up perfectly with the rear brace holes so the straps are straight. Hard to explain but when you're under there you'll see it

That makes sense. After the pans are in, they should line up.
Thanks so much for answering

Yes. From the factory, the trunk pan lapped over onto the top of the rear floor pan with spot welds. I plugged welded mine and it looks like the factory pans now.
