Is the entire VIN stamped on the side of the block or just the last 6 digits?

There is a mighty fine triple black 69 RT 4 speed cat that has what looks to be a freshly stamped vin on the side. Looks a little too good!!

For 1969  E series cars  , depending on the scheduled production date (SPD)    the full 13 digit vin is stamped , or the last eight digits ! , are  stamped on the block & transmission  :yesnod:

If that is the car in question.. the engine stamp looks good for font, but the trans is certainly bogus. A shame considering the good cars this outfit generally sells.

833's have more stamping than just the VIN #.. at least on both '69 transmissions I have in the shop. I won't show the stampings, for those that don't know correct.

The fender tag is bogus, the stamping on the transmission is bogus and the stamping on the block is highly questionable.
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

so this tells us that making a car with whatever options we want it to have for re-sell and it not even be right doesnt effect the value as theres always suckers to buy them... :shruggy: so how many hemi cars have just poof popped out of thin air  :smilielol:

i'm far from a expert ,  I don't think 67 & earlier were stamped , & for 1968  D series  it was only the HP motors , that  had a vin stamped ,

I await to be corrected on any of this  :2thumbs: :popcrn:
