I have a question about front bumper guards or bumperettes. I have seen 2 different styles on 69's. most common are to the center of the bumper, some go above the bumper. I am trying to find a set for a 70, they appear similar to the style that goes to the center of the bumper. can anyone tell me why the 2 different styles on 69's ? is the shorter one same as 70 ?

Not sure if they are interchangeable on 1970s but I was always told there are two different styles because they changed the design mid-way through the 1969 model year. All late build 1969's (including mine) got the larger above bumper style guards.

69's have a "tall or short" type, depending on production date. 1970 had their own unique style, which included a rubber insert. My pic host site ate all my good reference pics a while back, but you can always look at the 70 Registry site. :yesnod:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
