Wow.. I should have gone the "touring" route, I already had the '68 Satellite door panels in my 'Bee (that I grabbed in the junk yard in 1979)!  :lol:

While not a big rim fan, I find this to look quite good, actually.  What exactly is wrong with it?

Looking at the rim to fender well distance, it looks fine.  I wouldn't have blacked out as much as they did.

Yeah, the blacked our stuff was popular in the 80s.
I like bigger diameter wheels but not the ones on this car. I think the stance looks nice though.
My bet is that the guys that choose to stick with 14" and 15" wheels will never push their cars hard into a corner. They are traditional straight line dudes. I like the concept of a car that performs as well as a new performance car in all other aspects as well. You will not see a car with 235-60-15s making good time on an autocross event or a road course.

If I want a car that performs as well as a new car, I'd buy a new car. I like to keep a classic car...a classic car.

Charlie, I understand where you're coming from.  Myself, not going to set up a car like that but I can see those that want it.  And I also know that anyone of us owning a 68,69,70 will not win any autocross races.  But we can dream.

Asphalt and NASCAR drivers cars are bound by the rule books to run those tires and they are on a smooth course.
I'd gladly pit my car against any street Mopar with 15" wheels and tires !

we are bound by a rule book to run 15" rims but the taller sidewall helps out alot with grip. even formula 1 has good amount of sidewall. it allows the tire to give more of a tire patch on the ground even for cornering. a shallow side wall will react to steering input faster but overall grip will be less. i like a wider rim on a narrower tire. it takes away some of the sidewall flex allowing it to react faster to steering input

Stance looks fine, IMHO the wheel diameter is just too large for that design on that car. Looks to be over a 20" wheel in rear.
