dusty & dirty, but on the road again

Dragged off the cover and got her out of the garage yet again. She started with minimal effort, and then the family & I went for some ice cream (frozen custard in this case). It must be Spring! Unfortunately, everybody has to walk by her on the way to the primary vehicle (the mother ship!), so I see lots of mild abrasions and smudges that weren't there when she was parked in November (about time for a new cover as this one is getting a bit thin).  The amount of dust and grime that accumulates over the winter is always a shock too. Dry and dusty climates are a challenge, as the dust gets everywhere.  What is needed is a quiet day and good weather for a complete wash and dry, and then a slow and meticulous detailing (something to look forward to).

Only saw one other old car on the road to Culver's (a 40s Plymouth sedan). Still too-early for lots of folks yet.

Glad you're getting the Charger out.  Tell me about dry and dusty.  Keeping the cars free of dust in Phoenix is like trying to keep a teen age boy away from Playboy.  It ain't gonna happen. :icon_smile_big:
While you're just getting them out, we are looking at maybe 3-4 more weeks of usage and then they go away under the covers until late September.early October.
Have fun with yours

Boy-howdy do I get Phoenix and dust. Did a big project at Sky Harbor from 2000 to 2006 (somebody got a little careless with about 10 million gallons of Jet A).  Love it down there from November to March, but hell season is too-much for me!

Check out California Car Covers, if you're shopping....

myk: I'm not sure any cover is completely effective here, but mine is getting pretty worn. Ballpark, how much for one of theirs?

The Dustop model runs about $250 for most cars.  It's as dust proof a cover as possible.

I'm pleased with it, and I'm in serious dust and pollen country.  The pollen has turned everything bright yellow for a hundred miles.

I got the Superweave from California Car covers, list for $409 now - http://www.calcarcover.com/carcovers/car/4/1968/Dodge/Charger/Base%20Model/Superweave%20Car%20Cover/1/

These are REALLY nice covers, also bought these covers for my '70 Cuda and '71 Challenger. The do keep a lot of the dust off.
