My son came to visit this weekend with his wife for a picture op with one of my cars that is moving on to a new owner. He grew up around that car as I fiddled with it and he talked about how much the charger was a part of our early years when he came to live with me at around 13.

One thing that stuck in my mind is he told me he is getting old (38) and the years seem to be passing by fast (like I told him they would in those days).

I laugh inside thinking about my old charger and him aging at the same rate.  The charger looks and runs like new. My son (that day) no longer looked young to me. He looked adult.

We can attempt to pause time by working on our old cars to make them like they were but it does not stop time from passing.

  I am no longer growing up. Now is my time to enjoy getting up to a new day just cause the sun comes up. :2thumbs:

So sorry for your loss.
I have never been much for taking pictures as life passes and regret that very much. :2thumbs:  I can see my memories in my mind but can't share them as I would like to.

You can tell how old you are getting by how old your kids are.

ITSA426

You're only young once but you can be immature forever!

Charger_Fan

Time does pass, and it often seems to fly by. When you're a kid, time seems to drag most of the time. Once you are an adult, it definitely seems to move faster, and for me today at 51, it seems to fly!
I'm sure that's the same for most of us.

This is my oldest son in 1990, he was five here. I was taking this truck apart to fix a few issues & he wanted to be in the picture. He's 31 now...yep, some days I feel old!

Got a kid that lives in a trailer next door to me and when I get the charger out he wants to ride too so yesterday we were cruising around and he asked what that was sticking up through the floor on the driver side and I was confused for a second until he pointed at it. The dimmer switch LOL!!! Yeah i'm getting old myself.....

Some of my traits have been with me since I was a kid even if they run parallel to old man ways.

I do not like change. I like things to stay the same if they are working properly.

I like face to face conversations. It is easier to get a read on a persons character that way.

I would rather speak to a person as compared to texting. It is difficult to clearly detect humor or sarcasm in print or type.

I do not have any interest in Facebook, twitter, instagram, snap chat or any of that.

I like internet forums.

I'm going to meet my new classmates tonight and I'll probably be twice as old as the vast majority of them. So either I'll end up feeling younger in their presence, or I'll feel old and cranky. I'm going for younger but I'm getting cranky just thinking about it.

As long as it still functions as intended.......I'm likely still using it. :yesnod:

I'm kinda the opposite of "gotta have the latest "high tech" thingy" that's supposed to be a tenth of a second faster but doesn't work or last as well as the low tech stuff I have.

As for grand kids.....2 of mine stayed the night......they don't make me feel old.
