Just an FYI ,

After the complete teardown of my TCI SUPER STREET FIGHTER yesterday, it was determined that the valve body was faulty, due to machining that TCI did on their own parts.  also created too much heat .

I ll never buy another tci product , plus their customer service good luck  :RantExplode:

Many folks refer to them a Total Crap Incorporated
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

mopar0166

I would agree,  its amazing how they are still in business

Hard Charger

i bought a unassembled challenger in 2004. it came with a TCI 727 fresh from the crate.

i built the car in a couple months and piled in  the whole family for a drive. 5 miles and it blew 2nd gear. Cost $950 to repair.

TCI was no help at all, they didn't want to hear about it.

mopar0166

Yeah I hear your pain, im at the point where if this rebuild goes bad its 4 speed time.

TCI SUCKS, id highly recommend Monster with at their all inclusive 3 yr. warranty or for parts TSR in New Hampshire.

Both have been excellent to me and provide products that exceed your expectations.

I have not heard many good things about TCI lately.

I just hope we can keep spreading the word, for new members

I had one in a camaro that didn't last also had a local shop rebuild and it was good until the day i sold it.

mopar0166

another issue found, incorrect mounting bolt length and type for output shaft

the stupidity is comical

yeah mines been a nightmare what a waste of money,

go with monster or cope

Monster offers 3 year warrenty no questions asked if I didn't have a ton of money in my pos TCI I would have gone that route,   they advise -2-3 weeks for the build and dyno tests

Or...Total Crap Inside.

mopar0166

that was very clear from what I saw and took out from that transmission.

its now all rebuit with good parts,  :2thumbs: :coolgleamA:

Charger_Dart

I had a TCI transmission in my Charger and it was never right. Shifting was sometime hard and other times soft. Sometimes it would hold a gear too long, you just never knew what it was going to do. TCI was little help so finally I took it to a competent tranny shop that understood 727's and they mentioned it looked like they took every shortcut they could and some stuff they did made no sense to them. They 'fixed it' and I went on drive it that way for a few more years and it was so much better. That was my last TCI transmission ever.

same here from wrong hardware to missing thrush washers to a crappy valve body etc

TCI = POS

mopar0166

TCI STRIKES AGAIN,

so I now  the differences in the pump for a 727 torque flight and how TCI took an older case and put late model parts in it, another reason why they wont tell me what in it.

Trans had to come back out and more parts again ordered.

mopar0166

Oh how I wish I could just throw all these worn crappy parts at the owner of TCI,  what a waste of money!!!!

John_Kunkel

Swapping late/early model parts isn't inherently bad, I do it all the time....just gotta know which parts are incompatible.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

mopar0166

If you need trans stuff, go to TSR racing, they are the best.

I now know all the variances for the 727 trans AHHA

vegasmike

I was lucky summit took it back

mopar0166

Yeah ill never waste my money on TCI stuff ever again

mopar0166

Basically after going through a TCI transmission, it was clear as to why they wouldn't tell me what was in it. THEY DIDNT KNOW.  For a transmission having less then 800 mile and having a bad front drum, cracked thrush washer, wrong hardware, bad bushings, POS TCI valve body.  really makes you wonder what the hell they are doing over there.

Lennard

I've heard good things about Cope transmissions.
