Ill guess that the answere to my question is yes but ill ask anyways. Will a 2001 ish 360 engine mate up to 904 auto trans?

The above article states "The 5.9 Magnum uses a weighted flexplate and a neutral-balanced converter from the factory." but this is only true of '96 and later, the earlier Magnums used the same flexplate as the LA motor.
