Console belt buckles

Hi

My original Superbird has seat belt buckles attached to the console, to house the belts when not in use (as per photo).

Has anyone seen this before?
Is it factory / dealer fitted?

Seat belt clips were more common in 69, usually on the seat bottom edge.  The rear seat ones are commonly broken from years of in and out.  Less seen in 70 but never say never with Ma Mopar.  Looks period-correct.

I should have mentioned that the buckle and plastic cover is the same as the other buckles on thecar.

I'm going to GUESS it's owner installed, it looks too "hookey" for factory in addition to having never seen a set up like that or a console with evidence a retainer was ever installed.

I would say added. Never seen it before and the kick panel speaker shows that it likely had another radio and other mods done as well.
