The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I know it's rare and all but that thing is just plain ugly. I would much rather have a Hemi Cuda than that there thing.

No telling with those Chevy guys.

In early 2002 my friend's neighbor paid $38,000 (literally) to a Chevy dealer for a new Camaro.  He ponied up because it was a "Limited Anniversary Edition" or some shit like that.  It looked like a stock 2002 Camaro with some extra decals on it to me.

By 2004 he was griping that the dealer wouldn't even give him $20,000 for it on a trade-in.

Yep.  I kinda like the older Chevelles too.  I don't understand a million dollars for it . . . but then I'd never drop a million bucks for a matching-#s Mopar either so its a moot point.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Morons and their F-bodies.  Yeah it's a pretty fast car, but you just can't make a modern Camaro rare.

In the '80s and '90s Chevy was probably making more of the "special" and "limited" and "anniversary" edition F-bodies than regular ones.  Seemed like they would barely even get the 30th-year specials all sold before they started unloading the 35th-year specials.  Every time it was just another $100 worth of new decals slapped onto another stock Camaro.

And then i wonder??  :shruggy:  will these dime a dozen camaros be like dime a dozen Chargers back in the 80's?  i would think not.

That thing was on ebay several months ago before B-J to hype up the price and didn't sell then either.    Some Chevy guys were hyping it up trying to get their ego's stroked all over the web.

I can't find the thread yet but it was discussed.   I know somebody mentioned the late Dan Blocker (Hoss) from Bonanza had a Z16 and it had sold not too long ago for a bit over $200K.

No way in hell.

Star Wars figures are $2 toys that have become very valuable . . . when they're original ones from the 1970s.
But you can't buy figures of Ewan MacGregor & Hayen Christiansen today and expect the same kind of numbers in 25 years.  Once everybody knows the stupid thing might be collectible from early in its existence, it's not gonna be collectible anymore.

Yeah, the Ewan MacGregor figure & the 2002 Camaro might hold up SOME extra value years from now.  But I say forget about HemiCuda numbers ever happening with them.  I mean, a good percentage of the guys buying these newer "special edition" musclecars are being extra careful to keep their cars in pristine condition just for that reason.

----------------------------------------------

And how many people would rather have a 2002 Camaro than a '69 Camaro?  Case closed.

When it's a total "toy" purchase and BOTH cars are decades-old, you're not gonna compromise on what you want anymore.

did anyone go to his website www.Z16Chevelle.com and look at his documentation...he had it appraised by the chevy equivelent of galen in 05, and he estimated it to be worth $350,000, now i wonder how the price has climbed $600,000 in less than a year...o well

I guess you can simply say that it's the prototype car. How much would someone pay for the very first prototype charger or daytona. Same thing to the Chevy crowd.

Believe it or not, I actually drove Dan Blockers (Hoss) car before he did.  I grew up in S. California and had a friend whos Dad owned a Chevy dealership that was starting to specialize in the performance cars that Chevy was starting to offer back then.  His Dad used to bring home all kinds of hot Vetts and Chevelles for all of us kids to try out.  I guess he figured we would end up buying a car from him.  Anyway, one night he brought home this yellow '65 396, 4 speed Chevelle that had been ordered by Dan Blocker.  His kid came buy my house with it and we went for the standard "test" drive.  I lived on a pretty steep street and smoked the tires through 3 gears in front of my house.  Those black marks stayed there for many months.  It was a very quick car.  I'm sure the dealership must have put new tires on it before turning it over to Hoss.  I always wondered if he called the dealership on the "extra" miles that were on the car when he picked it up.  Bob

The ad says, "426 Hemi Dodge Challenger Plymouth Cuda Charger cars pale in comparison to the rarity and SIGNIFICANCE of this Z16."     :flame:

That is TOTAL BULL#$@%      I don't care what kind of Chevy that is,  or how rare, blah, blah, blah,   ITS STILL A FRIGGIN' CHEVY,   come on, please.

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.
