Parking Brake Decal

I just got my new decal for the instrument panel parking brake light and need to remove the remaining lettering from the original lens.  Any recommendations on what to use without damaging the lens?

I can't remember how I did mine. Either I scraped it off or I used something like lacquer thinner to remove the lettering. I may just have sanded it off and polished the lens. Have you tried scraping it with your finger nail? Always try the least aggressive methods first!

Thinner will melt it.

Use a polish. Like 3M polishing compound. Or even tooth paste on a clean rag. It may take some rubbing, but it will clean up the lens in the process.
