Has anyone tried the OBX headers on 68-70 B body?. These are half the price of the TTI's and appear to be well made. I've used TTI headers on my last 2 chargers and wasn't impressed with the fit, especially since they cost nearly $1000.00 bucks. For that money, they should fit like a glove

I like them because they are stainless. I have heard great things on chevy and modern muscle cars. I have not personally used them yet so i can t comment other then what i have been told. I plan on giving them a try in the future.

I bought the OBX headers. If all goes as planned I will have them installed in a week or so and I will let you all know.

I'll be waiting to see how that goes.  It'd be nice to see a lower cost alternative to the uber-expensive TTi's and Doug's headers...

collector is 3 " and pipes are 1.8 if I remember right

mopar0166

im not rushing into them, but they look a whole lot better then my comp hooker headers.

they have all kinds of dent from trying to make fitment right.    cant wait to see the install pics

very similar design to tti if you put the pics next to each other

what are the opinions on these?  its hard to research it

the hookers I have were installed ok, but with eddy heads the had to be modified to get the plugs in.   Now since I this renewed my interest in getting new headers. I put picks of the tti , hooker, obx products to see the difference.  the obx and tti look a lot alike and the design of the hookers is bad.

I believe its the same size headers I have now so 400 bucks is a lot better to try something then to spend 1000 to be disappointed.   looking forward to your thoughts    :popcrn: :2thumbs:

After looking at them and reading more,  1.8 is smaller then the 1/7/8 primaries I have now.  I wouldn't want to choke the beast with smaller headers
so I might be back to tti 2 " primaries but ill be watching the thread for info

anyone know the turn around time from tti or obx ?

I have not had any problems with my headers.  Perfect fit, easy on and off, good starter access, never leak, good plug access, no burnt wires, last forever.

500" NA, Eddy head, pump gas, exhaust manifold with 2 1/2 exhaust with tailpipes

Plus, 1.8" vs 1-7/8" (1.875") isn't THAT much difference. It's around 8% less cross sectional area, probably on the order of what you get from dimpling some pipes to clear a steering box.

mopar0166

sounds good such choices

all I know is why I have the transmission out and I'm doing new elec I want do this as well and get rid of the hookers that look like they went through ww ii

Not sure what heads your running, but I have those stupid eddy heads with the angled plugs.  I beat on the hooker headers for a whole day to make correct access.

ANy pics?

yes.

I'm swaying back to TTI, not really finding any great info on this headers. (at least the info I want to determine the feasibility of a purchase).  Would have been nice to see a good competitor for TTI but their marketing sucks and will little info on the internet, I don't think I'm sold yet.

DOUG THORLEY'S.  The quality is just as good, is offered in various finishes, and is cheaper than TTi's headers which are nice, but too expensive IMO.

How can anyone say no to those things?

mopar0166

yeah I have been reading on their products, edelbrock says TTI which is because of the angled plugs in the Alum heads,  the #1 reason out of 2or3 is spark plug access.

As for primaries, I don't know that I would really benefit from 2", I have 1 7/8 now.  again access to be able to change plugs in under 4 hours would be a plus.

if anyone has pics of dougs headers that would be good,  I have their cutouts and love them.
