Hey gang. Anyone have a pictorial page or website with images on the swapping out of the front extension of a Superbird hood to another Coronet hood? May or may not need to on my Superbird project..

Thanks guys,,,,

That thread though, looking at my original Superbird hood, the bottom inner structure sheetmetal is whole, so how in the world is the extension pinch welded to the outer top skin along the length from side to side?

I would like to know if anyone out there is selling a steel hood extension and underside filler panel to modify a Coronet hood into a Superbird hood?
Thanks! MJ

Gene Gregory is tooling up to press some, but it hasn't happened yet...... Last I heard, he didn't have any independent hood extensions...... I would love to fine a standard Coronet hood...

Troy, like I mentioned in the link (posted above), when I replaced the extension on the 'bird that I did... the only way I can see it being done, Creative Industries must have gotten the hood skins and hood frames separate. The best I can imagine is that they did the modification while they were separate, and then spot welded the two assemblies together.

Now, that would make sense if the skin and understructure were separated...   :2thumbs:

I have a standard coronet hood that I'd like to move on down the road.
