Polished trim rings on a Superbird?

I read somewhere that "NO SUPERBIRD CAME WITH POLISHED TRIM RINGS ON THE 15" RALLYE WHEELS"  My late December built Superbird has brushed rings.  We all know all 14" rings are brushed.  I see a lot of Superbirds on E-bay and pics on this site of high dollar restoration cars with polished rings.  Anyone know for sure what is correct???  WINGNUT426

Were both polished and brushed 15" trim rings available for 1970 models? Was one style for 1970 and the other for 1971, similar to the Rallye wheel center caps (Dark painted vs. light painted)?

Of all the vintage factory photos of Superbirds, they all appear to have polished rings, I've yet to see brushed rings on any 70 15 inch Rallye wheel other than TA/AAR cars, and they could come both ways depending on build dates

If you have the Broadcast Sheet, it will be specified as "Wheel Cover" on Line 4. They are polished if the code is "43' for p/n 3461043 for 15" wheels

That's what mine has, polished rings and a 43 on the build sheet.

both cars here have polished rings and we've had them since 76.  Rick Edwards swears he never changed his out and they're brushed.

Just checked my broadcast sheet and the code for "wheel cover" is 22.  Galen's breakdown of the codes shows 43 early,(polished)  and 22 late,(brushed).  Thanks for the input, I answered my own question!   Wingnut426

"22" is the last 2 digits of p/n 3461222 - for brushed trim rings

Don't have a GG book handy,  but is 24 on the BC sheet the magnum 500 road wheel, or what?

Here is a factory tag with the part number 3461043 off my Superbird original polished trim ring.
Does any one have an extra with mild curb rash for a driver?
