Future possible charger

I have a chance to buy a numbers matching charger I think it's 383 727 car for $4k but it's rusted out. It runs and drives but won't last a bump without falling apart, this is a complete car and I want it, either to transfer parts to a doner shell or part out :shruggy:, what do y'all think? I'm a ways from being able to buy it so I have time to make up my mind. Please don't post $ or anything the owner doesn't  need to get a different number in his head. So is a good numbers matching car worth building on a good body or are parts worth more? Should I build it to a DD and make a happy buyer or make 200 people somewhat happy?
Thanks y'all!

Edit, for some grammar and clarify my intentions

cdr

an R/T would not have a 383,  only 440 or 426. word of advise , it is against the law to do,,, as you say,  SWIP SWAP

People that swap VINs need a kick to the dick.
People that try to pass off a base model as a more valueable model by changing fender tags also need a kick to the dick.
Don't be a dick. Do the right thing. Don't part it out! All Chargers are rebuildable unless they are crushed into a cube! Plenty of repro panels are available.
As said, no R/Ts came with 383s. Good luck, I hope it works out.   :2thumbs:

Rust isn't cheap to fix correctly unless you can do the work yourself and for 4K you might not have much left that is good for parts because of that rust.

I would pass on the car unless your okay with fixing the rot.

Pictures of car, what year and vin numbers would help. Of course the future buyer (mt) thinks 383, but... it could be 440 R/T. Lets see the numbers. :popcrn:

You don't need to swap the vin, all chargers are valuable

I never said anything about a Vin switch, that would be illegal,    the parts are worth a nice chunk of change, or look good stored in my garage, could be a DD maybe if it didn't sit under an oak tree for 2 decades, and I might be wrong maybe it's not an R\T, maybe I'm just losing my mind, yeah that's probably it
I have seen people take on rust on here and if it's not for love then it better be for a pay check because I bet 95% of the time when it's rusted out you'll never make back what you put in, and I'm hopeful I want be anexed from everyone for putting $s on chargers, I'm not looking to buy it and relist it in a week for 4xs what I payed or anything like that  :rotz:

It will be a few days atleast and I'll have to send them to someone as my tablet is POS and won't let me upload thing unless I take it right then and the pictures are too big, so any volunteers? You all will be sad to see this car, I tell you what

Baldwinvette77

It needs to be documented  :yesnod: , besides how bad could it be? we've seen rusted shells cut in half, and pristine cars crushed flat by trees  :shruggy:

Ouch that poor poor car, well I should be near the car in a few days and I'll take some pictures, I just hope I'll get a job soon and be able to buy it before the frame falls in on it self  or someone Steals it out from under me

Hey y'all I have some sad news, I went to my buddies house and told him about taking pictures for on here and he asked me not to, I thought it was strange but it's not mine so I try to be respectful of other people's wishes, I hope y'all understand, hopefully I will buy it and then I can post pictures but I may ask again another time to see if he changes his mind but hopefully Ill buy it and I can take more pictures then anyone can be bothered to upload!  :2thumbs:
So I'll just have to leave this thread as is until I buy it or its sold to someone else, also FYI I can't afford it currently or the title would be in my name
