Yesterday I installed a new mini starter but the flat steel "dust shield" I bought did not fit at all. I installed without it just fine but wonder if any others have run into this? It fit the starter but not the shaped C part of my 440's block where the starter bolts to the 727. I could have cut it to fit by removing quite a bit off inside edge but just wanted to get done and move on to other repairs.  :scratchchin:

I put a mini starter on the Daytona...still used the original dust shield that was on there from the original starter...not a problem here

There is a "mini dust shield" on ebay, R Erenburg (sp) sells them....

Thanks, That is the one I got, from Rick. (?) The old starter never had one and the mini covers more than I thought so it's not a big deal. (Just curious!  :scratchchin: )

Mine went on fine also.   I probably got an extra OEM shield if ya want to try it

Thanks bunches!  :2thumbs: Others have said they haven't used any so I figured it'll be okay? I am setting it up for daily driving so trying to keep crap out of there.  :scratchchin:

Havent forgot ya but I have looked all over for that shield and so far no show.  When/if it turns up it's yours

Hey thanks but I've given up and left it off!  :2thumbs: The gaps are really small anyway so not as bad as I assumed.  :scratchchin:
