68 Charger rear view mirror (I need a measurement please)

Hello Charger land, I need a measurement of the rear view mirror stem from a 68 Charger or any other 68 B Body. 69-70 B Body would probably be the same. The picture below shows the measurement that I need. This is from a 1973 B Body, probably not the same. The 1973 B Body stem measures 4-5/16" from the top of the ball to the other end where the set screw is.

Any help would be appreciated

5 5/8". scientific wild ass guess with a tapemeasure. Remeber, the 68 has an angular mirror mount.

Thanks Will

What puzzled me was this eBay listing that shows a similar stem as the one I pictured above.

Must be a stock generic photo they used.

Thanks again.

Do you need a mirror for your 68 Brian?  I have a few on my shelf.

Well sort of. I'm not sure after reading these replies and reading the thread TT sent. I have the correct mirror and I think I have the correct base. My stem is the long square type with the right angle end the attaches to the mirror. I broke the ball on the stem thinking it was a screw on type. Surprise it was not, snap!!! I had an A Body mirror stem laying around and that had the screw on type ball.

NOTE: If the mirror stem ball is a screw on type it will have a slot for a screw driver. Lesson learned. Anyway I took the A Body ball and then I tapped new threads on my 68 stem to receive the A Body ball. But you know what, it just seems too tacky and I would like to correct it with the proper stem or just get a whole new(used) unit. Not important right now.

Thanks for the offer. Do you still need the dash bezel end caps? I got a pair. PM me if so.

I think they used what ever they had on the shelf in the factory that day. Both my 68 and 69 have the round stem but Chris cbr's 69 has a square stem like this one:
