RM23V0A172641 ~ Possibly the original ad

Today, I had a little spare time to make a couple of new posts to the blog. Including this ad:

http://moparadsandoddities.blogspot.com/2016/03/varner-motors-superbird-4406-4-speed.html

I noticed the Stock Number ended in "2641". There was only (1) 'Bird on the list ending with that set of numbers, and was a "V-code" car. The ad is also for a "V-code" car. If this is your car, compare the ad, to see if the numbers add up. If so, enjoy the FREE ad.  LOL

I still have hundreds more that have all been scanned, just have to find the time to crop, and post.

I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

PettyMower

Thanks!

Perhaps this is the wrong forum to post original ads, as I see they receive no interest from the members. Maybe there's a better place to try to get these to their current owners.

Looking at the other Stock numbers on Varner Motor's ads, my guess is they used the first 2-digits of the year, and the last 4-digits of the VIN.

In this case "70" (1970) "2641" (last four from the VIN) = 702641.

Varner Motors was located in Arizona. And I believe it's the only ad I've found that includes a VIN, other than those in CA. But this is only if my assumption is correct.

177569 I have no info on the car. It came from Gordon SPrague out of Florida and I bought it 6 years ago. When I spoke with him last year he was pretty confused (he is over 80 I think) and said he thought it was originally a Florida car and was a numbers matching engine. He had owned the car for anywhere from 15-25 years, not sure which! The engine was not numbers matching so basically I don't put much confidence in the Florida sale comment, although it is possible.

Thanks

Dave, nice stuff!  Most dealers didn't include partial VIN as their Stock number designated to the car. Shame they all didn't do it.

Bob, nothing so far with that VIN. I do have plenty of original ads out of Florida. Some may mention color or other options, what should I look for?

Bob,

Of all my Florida ads, this is the ONLY one that mentions "Alpine White" (or as they call it, Arctic White).....and just look at those Magnum 500's!  You may need to swap to white wall tires.  LOL

Thanks again Jay. That address is in ft Walton beach Florida. I found the newspaper there at that time and have opened a newspaper.com account to search the ads. Will post if info found.

I got excited for a moment. my vin is 172649.  so close!
When I die I want to go like my Grandfather did, quietly in his sleep.  Not screaming like the passengers in his car.
