Are the fenders sealed to the inner fenders??

There is a overlapping flange between the inner and outer front fenders.  Does that flange get and type of sealant?   I'm talking about the gap in the picture where my finger is.

yes 3m caulking strips, I did not put it on mine, others will chime in.

I couldn't remember seeing anything on the old fenders but that doesn't mean it wasn't there.  Luckily , I just bought some caulk strips (60 feet of it) and should have enough.
