I need a new portable worklight

Or under hood light or whatever you call them. You know, the ones that make you see what the heck you're doing while you're installing quarter window regulators in a cold and dark garage?   :2thumbs:

I had an old one, the kind with the bulb and the hook on top, oh and the long power cord that got stuck on just about everything? After it flashed me for the seventeenth time in two minutes I finally got fed up with it and threw it out.

So I'm in the market for a new one. I'd like something with LEDs to keep it cool, the old one got so hot I couldn't lay it down on the carpet. A magnetic base or magnets on both ends would be great and wireless/rechargeable would be icing on the cake! I found this at HF but I figured I'd ask the weekend warriors first to see if there's a better option.

Besides, at over 41" that's not going to be very practical inside the car either...

Dino, I use the one that you have in the link below, works nicely, the ends unscrew and have magnets on them, perfect for the hood for example. very bright too!

I do like the features on that one!

I'll go check it out tomorrow and see if I can find something smaller to use in more confined spaces as well.

If I need something to throw a lot of light I have four 500 watt halogens so my "work lights" tend to be somewhat small.
I have a short fluorescent one from HF. Not this one but this is probably the replacement for mine:

I also use their 27 LED work lights. They are only about 4" and have a hook and a magnet for positioning just about anywhere. Best part - you can get them free on a regular basis (so it's cheaper to get a new light than change the batteries AND if I melt or smash it I'm not terribly upset):

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.
