Couldn't edit my original post to add a pole, so I created a new one

What is the best color on the chargers? What is the color that demands biggest premium (average cars)?

I think for second gen black is number one color and from my searches on the used market, it seems that they demand a premium. To me, this is the best color on the 2nd Gen, makes it look very mean!

Green seems to be the worst color and usually those cars are the cheapest. Same for interior color.

White/red/yellow seem to be on par. I dont like red and yellow, but that is just my taste, objectivly red looks pretty good. white is ok to me (with some black accents its kind of cool).

Silver seems to be rare, but i find it super good looking.

I dont think the crazy colors look that great on 2nd gens, but look good on 3rd gens.

My biggest question is about the blue color. I found a blue 68, with a blue interior (blue/black). I have a blue c7 vette and had a blue c6z06, and i love that color on those cars... But im not sure about it on the charger (never seen it in person). I like that 68's look very mean, but blue seems to make it less mean and more happy. Something like that... Does anyone have mean looking blue cars?

Whats ya'lls take on the colors?

Also, did anyone really want a car of one color, but could only get one in another color? Did you get used to the new color? Did you regret that u didn't get the original color u wanted? Did you end up selling the car because of that? Repaint? --- reason I'm asking is because I found a nice blue car, with a blue interior and column shifter. Car seems mint. However, I really wanted a black charger, with a black interior. I can deal with the blue on the outside, but blue interior is difficult for me.

Brass

No burgundy, gold, copper or bronze options?  I had every intention of painting mine black but I ended up appreciating the turbine bronze; especially its uniqueness.

:iagree: buy it , paint it how you want , lifes too short ! ! , if you found a good car  , its  easier doing a color & interior change  , than extensive rust / rot repair  , both are time consuming , to do  properly though.

I say this now  ,  but when I was younger , it was a different story  , mine had to be an original yellow car, with a black top & interior , 27/8 years ago internet was not around ,  did not have access to all the code books like we have day  , all I knew the charger had to have XS29 , which was a charger R/T  , & Y2 paint code , yellow & it had a black top & interior  , was only later  ,  I learned what  all the codes on the fender tag & broad cast sheet were , &  found out  mine had a V1T  tan vinyl top  originally  :eek2: :P

Yea I know black is not a color.

Black looks best on a 3rd gen.  (triple black in my garage)
Red for 2nd gen  (I had a red 68 Rt. My son's 70 is yellow with a black top and RT stripe is in my garage)
Best 1st gen was blue , but I think it was custom color.

This is like Blonde ,Brunette  or Redhead. I like them all.  (Brunette occasionally in garage)

My favorite color depends on the year.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

My favorite too. F8 is what I grew up with.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Isn't that whats so great about it though?  If we all like the same colour there would be only one choice offered.

Dans 68

I'm liking medium dark metallic turquoise (LL1).  ;)

fc7_plumcrazy

the poll isn't detailed enough.

FC7/FJ5/EK2 etc are great. As long as they are on a 70.
I hate it if a 68 gets painted plumcrazy in example.

So it should be more specific.

LL1 turquoise and QQ1 blue are the best colours for a 68 model ie IMHO

Factory didn't paint them green to not sell them. I understand, I had an f8 one in 77, and that color faded terribly in a few years to OD kinda green.

I agree, buy the car and it can be whatever color you want it to be. I voted orange. But the orange I favor is "burnt".
