If the top pad is stamped HP it's a Magnum (or Super Commando or TNT), if not it's a standard 440.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Everything points to a 1977 low compression cast crank 440 .... at least as it came from the factory. The block color should be blue, so perhaps it has been rebuilt and other pistons, cam, etc. installed.

I think the stock 1977 440's churned out about 230 HP ? On a really good day.

Now there is a bunch of reality that some people won't want to hear or won't believe.

500" NA, Eddy head, pump gas, exhaust manifold with 2 1/2 exhaust with tailpipes
4150 lbs with driver, 3.23 gear, stock converter

Blue was the standard 440 color from 72 on.

The HP # is really not even something to worry about. It will move the car along ok and still have decent torque compared to small block, but due to the low compression pistons these came with, breathing fire isn't going to happen without changing that. It not an engine that was factory built for performance, but rather mostly to move luxury barges, trucks and motorhomes around.

Keep in mind that in '72 they changed the way horsepower is measured.
