no rear quarter  / trunk floor or fender tag pictures though  :scratchchin:

At $27,100, that's more than the original paint brown R/T sold, using it as a benchmark. And it ain't an R/T, or all that original (except the paint) :Twocents:

I would have responded sooner..but I was out of town this weekend. Anyways.... yes, this was my car. I owned it for 5 years. Bought it in Jan. 2011. Sold it 2 weeks ago to the guy in WI. I got asking price. I know every inch of that car. If you might be interested on ebay and want to really know, ask me.

In response to the vinyl top, I believe 100% that it is original. If not, it was replace very, very early in it's life. It is a "white hat special" code.

It does have the tag and build sheet. It does have original motor but not original trans. Trans is a 727 from 71' for a 440.

The paint it original. The lower left bottom qtr. does need replaced. The trunk pan in the center does need replaced. It does need work under the vinyl top. It has bubbles. Other than that it is the most solid "original" Charger that I have seen...(that wasn't trailered around to shows).

I asked a few guys here and some of my car guys around about price before posting for sale. They all agreed that 26,000 was a good price and value for the car. I am surprised that it is north of 28 now on ebay.

The flipper did lie to me about his intentions. Said he had a 69 Dart GTS that was all original paint and green also, and wanted a 69 Charger to put in his garage next to it. He said he loved it and was going to keep it that way. But whatever, he bought it, if he wanted to light it on fire and drive it off a cliff... it's his car, if he wanted to paint it orange and slap an 01 on it... it's his car...so it is what it is, if he makes $$ on ebay more power to him I guess. Personally, I didn't want to mess with the headache of Ebay.

Don't feel bad for me though, I have owned 3- 69 Chargers in the past 18 years. I sold this one because I needed a change and something all but done. So I bought a 69 Roadrunner (my 2nd all-time favorite Mopar) with a 426 HEMI! Non-matching, I love it...and it sounds about 1,000 times better than the 383 that was in that Charger. Guess I need to change my name to BuckeyeRoadrunner.

If you have any questions about the Charger, fire away.

its up to 30k now ,  think this original paint , barn find thing is getting a little out of hand !  yes ! as we all know , if your looking for a project to restore  , find the best unrestored / un messed with / original car you can find , think buyers / sellers / bidders are getting a little confused ,  this green charger  . needs a resto ! its not good enough to be left as is  ,

there has been a few real good unrestored 69 chargers  ,  whats been mentioned  the bronze 69 R/T   , & the best  the 69 Y3 XP 383   that  MTD aka dirty turbin recently sold  see below , take a long look at how good this car is !!

having said all this !! maybe its me that's nutts  ,  I mean no offence to buyers & sellers ! if everyone is happy , that's all that matters  & this is the going price these days  :yesnod: after all , bought mine 27 years ago & prolly comparing then & now  :slap:& living in the past   , i'm going to wait for my bus   :shortbus:

I couldn't agree more! ...And this was my car!!  I love that car...but someone is a huge DA for buying this car at $30,000+! WTF! If I had more time, I would go into great detail on this car and explain all of it... maybe I'll save it for when the new owner is all excited and introduces himself on this site.  :pity:

Now I'm kicking myself for not trying ebay.  :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: I'd love to have an extra $5,000 in my pocket! Anyone know what ebay takes?

To add insult to injury... I gave with the car a complete original grill, just the plastic (another $800-1,000), a new vinyl top, a lower rear qtr skin from AMD, an original green upper dash pad with no cracks, and some misc. little parts.

Whatever....... I'm going to crack open a beer and go start the Hemi.... sweet music to my ears, and great therapy right now!

Interesting topic and nice to see some older photos of original paint cars.  Value aside personally I really like seeing a car like the green subject one.  It sounds like a lot has been updated towards operation, very thin on top paint and that volume of rusting on the quarters feels like most would restore it, but starting with a restorable roller might be better money spent for someone restoring a car imo.  That green car is neat and would make a great car and conversation starting anywhere the owner went.

TanTop you are right or should I say I agree, maybe sometimes it is hard to absorb and get head wrapped around the today market numbers.  It did to seem that long ago that 10k or 15k was buying pretty nice cars.  This one at 30 does kinda get my head scratching some...

The cold hard fact is there are so very fee ... nice presentable factory original paint in any motor or color combo, making it refreshing to see and nice that they are starting to hold their own.  I am not real interested in selling, but for point of reference the values of a seller or perspective buyer might be quite wide.  As I recall there is a Black 500 with original paint and maybe that black with tan on tan RTSE if I am remembering correctly.  I would expect that getting into original paint presentable RTs or better would have a good step in price if nice options, like these two black cars (or mine) and would take significantly more than those same cars if they were restored (in imo).  It is hard keeping a performance version of the muscle cars like RTs etc nice for that many yrs of a cars life and all the guy's (and girls maybe somewhere) beating on them.  Mine I have posted photos from time to time, but here are a couple photos (B5, RT4spd, original paint, non-number and very little not factory original).  I think it is great for the hobby that nice originals remain out there, even like that green car.  It is a time capsule of sorts and interesting to see.  Here we are ogling over a green on green V8 and it is cool.

And that quarter dent use to really bother me.  I have now owned the car approaching 16 yrs or so.  Now I just curious of the story it could tell?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

your B5 charger looks awesome from the pictures  :2thumbs:
yeah I often wonder that  the stories our cars could tell  ,
yes I remember that black C500 !  a red interior I believe ,   had pictures saved but lost them when computer blew up a few years back !  yes cant forget the  black tan top & interior  R/T SE with a sun roof  , that was mega !  if I remember when it come up for sale  , it was not cheap , even by todays prices . , but a car like that !! where do you find another ,  lost these pictures too , those who do not know this car ! if anyone cares to do a search   ( I cant find it  :icon_smile_blackeye:) you will see  how awesome this car is!,  these are the cars that we expect to see high bidding prices , ones that don't need restoring & original & can be left as is .  :Twocents:  not ones that are original paint , but need a partial or total restoration   :Twocents: , although these are the better project cars to buy ,  :yesnod:  easier / quicker  restoring  one of these cars , than one that's had  many many  repairs over the years buy guys with varying  degrees of  body / mechanical  skills or lack off ,   especially the bodywork ,

it does seem crazy 30k now ,   yes looks a nice charger , would like it my self  :yesnod: , but not at that price . the guys selling these cars , flippers  dealers  or .. they are all out to make money , that's what they do ! , nothing wrong with that , we all try it when selling stuff. I just would  like to know who bids these crazy prices  :shruggy:  , look at Leons  unrestored 70 charger R/T & what that sold for not so long ago !! think this / your Ex , green XP383 car, has already surpassed , what that sold for , by a few thousand already ! , anyways my theory  is this ,  the buyers / bidders are at fault  , if everyone looking for a second generation charger ,  stopped bidding & buying for a year , think prices would soon come down , although  ;), don't think that will work , with todays internet & how on line advertising works , in the ole days  maybe  :P;D
good idea !! fire the elephant motor up  :drool5: :yesnod: :coolgleamA: :2thumbs:   ,

if I was looking to buy a charger today , as much as I love the second generation  , wanted one since the late 70s  . think  I would be looking at a nother model , second generation  prices are nuts ,  even with me being able to do everything my self , its  madness to spend the kind of dough on these cars that need soo much work , :Twocents:

getting a little side tracked  , how crazy everything has gone !!
there was  a real  nice  68 / 9  J code hemi roadrunner on ebay last year  , for 67k  from memory might of been the year before , anyways at the same time  ,  on the second generation chargers  forsale section  , there were  very very poor GL charger replicas  for  70 & 80 k WTF , the world has gone insane  , no offence GL charger fans  , these two particular  chargers that were for sale , did not look even safe enough to drive  half a mile or  even to the end of the street . .
