I only see the home/sign in page. It's something I see often (just sign in here) and my instinct tells me to go back.
If I want something or want to learn about something I will seek it out.
If I feel compelled to donate to a cause it's unlikely ----oops will not be for someone that wants a toy.

That's all the rave these days is donations u guys need to get with the times.  I have a gofundme account for a hellcat challenger its up to 50k right now.....told everyone I need 20k more to pay taxes and to get the leguna seats

If I have to log in to view a request, I'm not going to help you out sorry. Least you can do is give a short description of what you want others to fund for you, I suppose it is car related or it wouldn't be on a car forum.

I was tempted to try a go fund me for a hellcat and use the sympathy of others and my terminal illness to generate interest, then I remembered, my generation believed in hard work,  putting in the time to get the rewards, and if you can't afford it, don't buy it.  Instead of lusting after a hellcat, I've bought myself a KB blower for my already paid off challenger r/t.  Something I could afford, even if I've stiffed my daughters of a little inheritance.

Well that's what I was trying to say, but thanks for spelling it out for us.

Hell I'm going to start a gofundme also.  These days people seem to be more inclined to charity and leeching off of the more affluent, so why should I be any less taken care of?  I need a 572 in my fenders too.  I'll hit you guys up with a link ASAP....

What the hell happened to pride? What happened to being ashamed? This is a major problem with people today. Too many lack the pride to admit that taking charity for NON essential things is totally pathetic. People on Welfare used to be embarrassed to pay for food with food stamps.
20-25 years ago, you'd never see anyone standing at a freeway off ramp with the bullshit "Will work for food" sign. Who gives a shit if the economy isn't the greatest? Deal with it. Eat bologna and cheese instead of buying energy drinks and Doritos. Take the bus instead of getting gold toofuses and 10 yards of gold chains.
If you can't afford to build the car, get a second job, collect aluminum cans, mow lawns, run errands for a shut-in, whatever. Getting online to beg for money is admitting that you are a failure UNLESS the money is needed for something really necessary....like medication or something similar.

It's  a different generation.  They don't see it as begging.  To them it's not embarrassing.

It is completely in line with supporting and voting for a communist.

then maybe he needs to pull his pants up and go out to find a job to help him pay for what he wants....he's in for a surprise if he thinks he can make it through life asking people to pay for his project.

Or, he can go stand on a street corner with a cardboard sign and beg for quarters....

100% right.   The accepted mode of thinking these days is to not help yourself, but ask others to make the sacrifice for you.  Pathetic.

I wonder how long they're going to keep this abortion of a thread open...

Sometimes I get to the point where my temper spills over. This was one of those instances.
I am becoming the old man that despises the changes I see in this world. I am smart enough to understand that every generation has their elders that feel the same way that I do but I really feel my opinions are valid.
Bill O'Rielly was asked if he blames the Government for the entitlement mentality of todays youth. He sad that he blamed the parents of the kids. I had to soak that one in for a moment, then I agreed with him. It is the responsibility of the parent to lay the foundation for the child.
"Every facet, every department of your mind is to be programmed by you. Unless you assume your rightful responsibility and begin to program your own mind, the world will program it for you."
Ever heard that phrase? It was embedded in a Trance/dance/House music song that I heard on a friends CD. Great point made in that quote.

I hear that. I agree with you about 94% . There are example I am aware of where the parents did a good job. Despite the parenting they recieve some kids still find the wrong path.

It almost makes you miss the days when some kid would want to know if you would accept payments on your big dollar musclecar you were selling.  We used to mock those guys but at least there mindset was that they should pay you somehow, not expect everyone else to do it for them.
We live in an age of entitlement where non essential items have somehow become rights.  :brickwall:

We are simply at a tipping point in our society. Our public schools have not taught our founding principles for maybe 30-year now so "work-ethic" is almost a dirty word. Our borders are porous and our politicians are mostly compromised.  This coming election will either buy us some time or....hasten the demise.  Either is possible at this point.
