The Firecore stuff has quickly become the gold standard for Mopars huh?  :2thumbs:

You're welcome Charlie !  :2thumbs:

Wow, that didn't take long....parts arrived on Friday and at a show on Saturday !  :coolgleamA:

Luv the sinister look of your car....flat black paint and Centerline auto drags are a killer combination !

I'm jealous of the car show....jeez we're months away from that here. Last week we had really cold temps ; -45* and after it warmed up a bit a few days later, we got hammered with 2 feet of snow in less than 24 hrs.

I guess Charlie doesn't mess around when the parts arrive !  Car Show weather here (I also live in the Houston Tx. area) as it was in the 80's here yesterday as well as today.  A cold front is on the way bringing the temps down to 40's for a low and 60's for the high before it "warms up" again  :2thumbs:
The show season has already arrived down here!

I live just south of you guys in Victoria, weather has been great for cruising. Glad to here you got back on the road so quick.
Love the paint job Charlie. Gonna have to get together one day and take pics of ours together.

Hello lukedukem.   I guess I never realized you lived in Victoria.  So close yet so far!  Nice to have cruising weather around here already. I doubt I'll drive my Charger the 100 or so miles from me down to Victoria but, if you make it up this way, I'll gladly share an adult beverage with you and talk MOPARS and, especially, chargers.
You never know, my old Charger might make the trip to Katy to see Charlie and to Victoria also!

we like it down here in the south   :yesnod: but it does get VERY  :flame:, it was an easy install, i set the curve up with only one blue spring & 10 deg mech advance & 7 on the PORTED vacuum source, initial at 24. Its my only car so there was no messin around to get it running.

Believe me....I'd luv to be down in Houston right about now ! These winters are getting old !  :P

Nice job on the tuning....you're spot on with the 34* total and of course the initial is combination dependant.  ;)

The last two closed chamber aluminum head builds I've had on the dyno made best power at 34* total timing.  :yesnod:

Hope your nice weather continues

I don't know if it's blind luck, the high quality of the parts or what, but I haven't read of many Firecore installs that didn't go smooth and by the numbers.  Anyone on the fence about this product should just get it.

Notice any difference in the way the car runs, 'CD?

the timing curve set up is the same as my old ign system & it does start better now, other than that it is hard to tell, all this car does is blow the tires off, now to save for some sticky dot drag radials.

Myk ,
I ran the Billet distributor on mine because of clearance problems to Edelbrock victors heads
using a msd -6al-2 ignition box , only because I drag raced mine
Msd have a billet distributor also but the firecore is better at putting your own tailored curve to it , the msd has only three possible curves to it ,
haven't looked back since the set up ,
no plugs fouled, faultless great distributor out of the box

I never posted pictures of my ign set up, DANG it has gotten very dirty under the hood, thats what happens when you drive em.   :yesnod:
No spark plug wires over the valve covers, my next project is to hide the engine wiring under the intake.
