Interesting that the ad has 4 dealers in addition to Kneer Dodge.  Other dealers got in on the action with Kneer.

Excellent find, thanks for posting.

68 BENGAL R/T

That really cool. I've seen your postings on your '72 Bengal Charger Hemi-Hampton, but I don't remember any specific's about the builds. How many did they make?
Did they have anything unique on their build sheets to designate a special build?
I own an original '68 Bengal Charger R/T with a 440 Magnum that I am finally making plans to restore.

HOOD.
I see you're building it in a way to make this unique car even more so. :2thumbs: Do you have the body painted too?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

68 BENGAL R/T

    I have a numbers matching '68 Bengal Charger R/T.  It is a 440 R/T auto/console with a black vinyl top and black
interior and it is about 95% original.  Documentation: 999 codes on the fender tag and a build sheet
from the interior that says SPECIAL HANDLING JOB and lists the options.
The first time I saw my Charger I was 11 years old and my cousin, who lived two houses away from me, came home
with his 17 year old new girlfriend in a beautiful Orange '68 Charger.  2 years later, her father got her a '72 Charger
and my cousin bought the '68.  I saw the car every day for the next 4 years.  When I turned 16 he let me drive it!
My cousin got a job on the east coast and he needed to sell the car.  I bought the car from him on my 17th
birthday for $650. I have owned it for 39 years.
Now with my kids out of college I am hoping to begin my restoration project in the near future.

That is so cool that you've been able to hang onto it for all those years.

Awesome car, thanks for sharing. Just curious, did it have a re paint at some point? the tail panel area looks to have more black than I thought it should have? I am getting close to the paint stage of my 68 and have been studying several tail panels of cars  :scratchchin:

68 BENGAL R/T

Yes, it has been repainted. Back in about 1980, when I was a young poor kid, I had a friend do some bodywork and repaint the car.
It does have filler in the rear quarters but we did keep the the paintwork patterns almost exact to the original.
