Reflector housings

My '69 has been missing one of the rear reflectors since I bought it a year ago. Last week I picked up two of the housings that hold the reflector. I was at a swap meet, and spotted a couple of housings , but they're two different sizes. One is a little deeper than the other. Are the front and rear housings different? If so, which is front and which is rear?
Thanks

Chris, one of the housings in my 69 seems deeper than the others yet when I removed it, it has the same part number cast into the housing.  Only thing I can think is that it is a design change over the year. :shruggy:

Possible....when you say "seems" is it deeper?  have you measured it?

Pics?

Chris,  I can try and get pics tomorrow.  It seems deeper by sight and feel.  If I rememer correctly when I had them out, they both had the same part number with a - sign and then a number.  One was something like a -3 and -4.  I have heard where a casting number could have been recast or modified over the years with the dash designating how many times it has been retooled.

I also encountered this problem last summer.

I had three of the shallow ones and one of the deeper ones.

Attached are a couple of photos for reference.

BTW, I went with the shallow ones.

I had a pair of '69 Belvedere fenders (same as Satellite, RR, GTX, etc) at one time. I removed the side marker housings "just in case", and then sold the fenders. The housings are DEEPER vs the ones for my '69 Charger. The Plymouths used the same reflector. Must be a Plymouth thing.
Hope this sheds some light on this subject. I don't have part #'s handy, but I will update if need be.

Shakey,

Are the part numbers the same that are cast into the housings? ???

I can't tell you.  Not because I don't want to, but that photo was taken last summer and I have since traded the deep one with a guy for the shallow one.
