Thought that thread would attract more comments...

Anyways (not I who wrote it) - looking myself at nada guide - 12k for "low retail" Charger R/T 1968 (non-hemi) does not seem like that much (of an increase vs last year) - and does not seem like that much in general if you see the description of what this "low retail" means: basically a good driver with all stuff there, only minor reconditioning needed...

For average retail - you get very good car (restored but not recently) - 25k, and for high retail you get perfect car - 50k if I remember correctly.

I would say pretty decent prices - and not a sign of Mopar rally having continued last year - more like it has levelled off...

Opinions?

What is current going-rates for "low/average/high retail" cars given nada-descriprtion...

(68 in this example - I guess similar for 69/70...)

I never go by NADA . They seem to be very out of touch on their pricing. There are other things to take into consideration when pricing.Time of year, area of the country, etc.

I don't listen to them either.  So many of the supposedly reputable sources for pricing seem to be interjecting a certain amount of their own little "opinion" these days.

I mean, it's not 1989 anymore. The musclecar value scale doesn't start with factory COPO Camaros and go downwards from there anymore.  And a rusty '69 Charger with a lowly 318 VIN really WILL sell for more money than a lot of Chevelles in much better shape these days.

The hobby is changing whether they wanna accept the changes as legitimate or not.

If not NADA, who do you use to get more of a firm idea of what a particuliar car might sell for?
1970 Sublime R/T, 440 Six Pack, Four speed, Super Track Pak

You have to visit different sites and be informed.Watch what others sell for and come to your own evaluation.

nada works good on more modern cars. from the mid 80s to modern day. their colelctor prices are always off.

bull

There are other publications people go by but I don't know which one is most accurate. All I know is when you're selling you want to get the most amount of money and when you're buying you want to spend the least.

Some guys swear by this publication: http://www.manheimgold.com/

Big Lebowski

Check the E-bay Completed Listings for 1968 Chargers. E-bay is where the stupid money guys shop. :icon_smile_big:
