Does anyone know the auction results of the Alabama Daytona from the mecum auto auction in kissimmee florida? It was the red Daytona that needed restoration.

this sold for $90000 plus commission I think Mecum is 5 or 6 % for buyer and 5 or 6% for seller.  So seller got $84600 @6% or $85500@5% and the buyer paid $95400 or $94500.

Dang, these auto auctions have quite a lucrative thing going on! :o I didn't know the fees were that high. Once again, I see I'm in the wrong business. :icon_smile_tongue:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

That's cheap, Barret Jackson is 10% to buyer and 10% to seller.  They make 20% on every car.

Mecum's sellers commission is two tiered.  For their upcoming auction in Indy, You pay a 10% percent with a reserve,  or 5% without.     You also pay an entry fee from $350 to $1500 depending on what day and what time the car runs, and whether it is a star car in the catalog.

I am most definitely in the wrong biz!

Barrett Jackson, Mecum, and Russo Steele all charge 10% for the buyer. The seller fees vary from 5% (no reserve) to 10% depending which auction.

The commissions must have changed,my bad.  But I just looked and a buyer does pay 10% so $99000 in this case and the seller pays 10% for a reserve auction, in this case seller would get $81,000 before expenses.
Here' a link to buyer commissions:

The seller commissions are listed in the "position request form" area found here:

sorry for the confusion
