so when i was cutting out the old trunk pan and had a big rust pile, the old gas tank and gas tank straps were in the pile. the old gas tank straps were not rotted but i wanted new ones anyway. theres a big dumpster i use to drop stuff in about a mile from the house on my way to sonic. i tossed it all in there only to find the next day gas tank straps are backordered, stainless and steel ones. had to go dumpster diving to find my old straps again lol.

got the trunk finish cut and ready for new trunk pan, had to patch a few small spots in the frame rail and cross rail.

got the inner frame rails and rail connector epoxied and then weld thru primer on the weld seams. finished grafting in the trunk pan. i didnt use the whole pan because its that cheapo 2 piece and the original metal around the leaf spring supports was good and stronger.

stayed up till around 1am getting the engine parts painted with por-15, stuff is awesomeness...dries like to a hard glossy finish that wont get affected my gasoline or brake cleaner, i always use it on engines. a little tricky to spray but just gotta reduce it a little and do light coats. now i can get it assembled today. my title for the car showed up yesturday, good timing lol. also got the rear axle all done with my 3.91 sure grip, new brakes, green sealed axle bearings and all front suspension done. remember i only started on this about 2 weeks ago, i have to keep reminding myself not to go crazy or dump alot of money in it as its just gonna be a beater hotrod, ive already got over 11k in it but thats also with buying it. the engine itself is a 440 .030 over, 11:1 forged flat tops, ly rods with arp bolts, arp head bolts, ported 346 heads with manley valves and springs (my aluminum heads were not ready yet so running these), 229/233 solid roller cam, double chain, steel crank, comp pushrods, prw rockers, mopar stock appearing aluminum intake. aluminum water pump housing and pump, milodon dual pick up oil pan and pump. it should be a good little street thumper for now.
