   Can anyone tell me where the voltage regulator is located, cause I cant find it

Firewall, just left (looking from the front of car) of the wiper motor.

    Mine the one that I see is a black box aprox 1in x 2in with yellow writting on it,,,,when I looked online for a replacement the NOS one has orange writting on it and is aprox 2x4

you have the 68 down one     :yesnod:  look on ebay for 68 down one and see if it matches

I can't add pics or I would show u. But yes what u are  describe sounds like it. 70 they change it. 69 and earlier are the same parts

that's the 70 & later electronic voltage regulator  , to be used with a duel field alternator only ,  many  use this set up , on 69 & earlier cars ! me included ,  simple conversion

yep it is / was a 2098300 regulator , I believe that part number stamped on the regulator!  was done a few different colors too , think different suppliers or ...  :shruggy: :scratchchin:

 when I was putting my charger back together after I done a nut & bolt resto , I used  , a 69 & earlier , voltage regulator , but  with electronic guts , instead of the mechanical set up ,  these are available , from year one !   part number * RX346 *  , IMO would never use the  OEM 2098300 regulator ,  old points design , & not as reliable as the electronic  :Twocents:

first picture below is said ,  69 & earlier voltage regulator with electronic guts  ( cant be used with a duel field alternator )  only stock 69 & earlier single field .

second picture , is one fitted to mine  , as mentioned  , going back together after the resto ,

third picture is the 70 & later electronic regulator I have now  , together with a duel field alternator
