I'm a little surprised n the C500 prices.  They just don't seem to get the love you'd think they would.  No matter what's under the hood and production numbers etc... they just can't turn the numbers like a Daytona no matter whether it's a 440 or 426.  The nose and the wing just do the trick for buyers.

Just by comparing prices, I think maybe the C500 guys should look at their cars like a B body convertible.

The Copper 500 had all the documentation and original drivetrain. It should have brought quite a bit more than the Red 500. The R4 Red 500 had a warranty block, but it was a 4speed and resale red. There is something to be said about having the right color.

Panther Pink 70 with 383 sold for $72,5k.  No vinyl top or stripes, but had SE package.  Strong money.

It's interesting what the effect of an auction like this has on the 99.9% of us.

The reality is a few cars exchange hands in an auction atmosphere that most of us don't live in. When compiling statistics that are relevant to most of us it  just amounts to entertainment. When the show is over we go back to the real world of finding a car we like or a buyer that want's what we have.

When a very high selling price happens the real marked gets stalled for a time until reality comes back home. :Twocents:

It's sorta like hearing about a lottery winner and feeling a need to buy another ticket. Or on the other hand since the jackpot has been won what's the point of buying another ticket? Their is no value in either case from that jackpot being won that carries to the next one.

True That  :yesnod:  :2thumbs: :yesnod: I would be happy to sell my car for half the price they get and still be happy

Gene, yes it is the same 500 that was at Carlisle a few years back. I looked at the car prior to its restoration. It had everything original yo the car on it at that time. Wires, belts, hoses, and such. All were discarded and replaced for shiny new after market pieces. Which more than likely hurt it now.

Knowing what was spent to buy the car before restoration, it was definitely not for profit.
