"Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia," read a statement posted on the band's site.

was shocked to hear the news.  After watching the hell freezes over special on hbo, was hoping to get a chance to see them in concert, now realize it won't happen.  Same thing with Dio, now I have to focus on a few of the popular groups of my youth, Styx or Kansas would be a good show.  Eagles, who I first got interested in back in 1975, are losing their members.

RIP Glenn.

That list is missing a few.  Don't tell me Daltrey died as well!
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

So sad. The Mrs. and I are avid fans. We have their "Farewell 1 Tour" performed live in Melbourne dvd and play it often.
Just love their music.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

TruckDriver

That list of name is short though. There are a LOT more older rock guys still making music.
Except for the drummer, everyone in the Scorpions is over 60, Ozzy Osbourne is 67, Randy Bachman and C.F. Turner of Bachman Turner Overdrive is 72, and all the other former members of BTO is over 65, Kim Mitchell is 63, and just had a heart attack a few days ago. You can go one forever.

I hear that they are going to ship his body all the way from Memphis.

In other rock & roll news, Don McLean has his first hit in over 4 decades.....

Why can't we have some crappy rappers die instead?

The genre is not old enough for a ton of deaths yet.  At least not from old age, anyway.

I'd settle for Bieber to run his Lambo off a cliff.

Mike DC

It would be cooler to see a Lambo running Beiber off a cliff.

That little douche needs to be removed.

I still hate the Eagles.

Not a big fan either. I can listen to a few of their songs & I generally do like Henly's album; Building The Perfect beast. That's about it.

It's hard to dislike "Take it Easy" but most of their stuff (that I ever hear in pop culture) seems forgettable IMO.

The Dude prefers CCR.  I agree.

CCR (well, John Fogerty) is probably the greatest American rock band of the 60s-70s.

The Eagles are what I call "Uncle Rock". You know, the stuff your otherwise lame middle aged back-in-the-day uncle listened to because it allowed him to rock out while still playing it safe.

In other words, they were the Nickelback of  their age.
