Hello,

I picked up a 440 block yesterday with this VIN# XX29L9199xxx stamped on it.  Is there a way to identify if this was for a Charger 500 or a Daytona?  I would imagine if it was a Dayton the VIN would be in a registry.

Block is dated 6/68

Thanks

John

Being a mid 68 block, I'd put my money on you having a block meant for a 500.  We have a 500 registry on here as well. See if it's listed. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,115251.0.html

That XX has a real low sequence number, so it would have gone to a '69 Charger 500, not Daytona... Danny, you have anything on this car?

Did you forgot the "B" after The XX29L9?  I,m pretty sure Daytonas only had 9BXXXXXX and not the whole VIN. Thus low number and whole VIN = 500

Daytona vin run from 287970 _434780
On daytonas I've seen stamping has 9Band vin digits

John,

It would be nice to know if your 199xxx VIN block matches one on the registry list so we can record it as existing, or if your VIN is a newly known car!

Thanks.
