Been away from the Mopar thing, but I am back and want to say hello to all the old timers. You may remember my Petty blue Daytona clone that went to a nice gentleman in Atlanta. Miss it, but I came across a '70 RT 4 speed car while drilling a water well in Colon MI and struck a deal. It is a 1 owner A title with 110k miles.   Here it is:      Rick  (the last pic is the best)

I can't say I remember your Daytona Clone but ........ something about that rings a bell. Medical conditions and events have caused my memory to be a little fuzzy!

The '70 R/T looks great and I know you are proud of it!  Congrats and welcome back.

Ok, I give up.......I've been all over this state and I don't know where Colon, Mi. is. My guess is if you were drilling a well it's probably pretty rural.

Nice find!

Colon is rural...it is self proclaimed "the magic capital of the world" because it was Blackstones birth place and has a magic festival every August. Nice little town with several lakes and summer cottages. It is west of Coldwater, east of Three Rivers, south of Kalamazoo.

Ahh. Ok then. Figures it would be in the one corner I've only been to a couple of times. That and the thumb area have been our least traveled areas.

nice    it even has an fm converter

Are you talking about this thing on the right? The gadget on the left looks like a trailer brake remote. Does the car have a hitch?

Remnants of the hitch were still welded to frame rails. In the process of tear down now. Will need frame rails and trunk floor as well as front floor pans. I'll post pics.

Hey old timer.  My old username was:  AllBlueRT

What a beauty.  It wasn't bastardized over the years it looks like.  Perfect restoration candidate.

I'm not positive but I think there a lot more longitudinal stripes cars from factory vs. bumble bee.  I didn't care for it at first but it's grown on me.
Just another 1970 Charger only option.  Another visual impact '70 only option were the call outs.

So may I ask, what are your plans?

Dino

You're WetfeetMi?  Haven't seen you in a long while.  I used to go by Doc74.

Never been to Colon, that's also the one corner I missed.  Jeff, the thumb area is really nice.  I drove the coast line there last year, lots of fun with the Charger!
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I thought it wasn't just "wetfeet".

I remember you said you came up with the name cause you'd get wet feet after you drove your Charger in the rain.   :shruggy:  Or is my memory lying to me?

Oh I been to the thumb. Camped in the 2 state parks and drove down the coast line. Some of the nicest beaches I've ever been to at the parks. Pure sand. Spent much more time on the west, northwest & northeast coasts with a few trips to the U.P. (that's the Upper Penisula for you out of staters  ;))
If you want an awesome drive, drive the northwest coast of Michigan's little finger. Lot's of scenic overlooks, marina towns, Sleeping Bear National Park, antique/gifts shops & restaurants. A great drive in the fall.

Now back to our original subject. I always find it interesting seeing one of these cars with a hitch especially an R/T, 4 sp but it's easy to forget that most of these cars were daily drivers for their owners. Heck, I bought a new 1980 Mustang Cobra 4 sp. Put a hitch on it and towed my snowmobiles across the state.

Actually I barefoot water ski. It is on jack stands and I am in the process of removing paint around the rear valance and quarter area to see damage and determine how far I have to go with replacement parts. I am pulling the Dana tomorrow. Northern lower peninsula is very beautiful. Traverse City is a great place in summer or winter.

Nice find, I really like it. Best of luck with the resto.
