I am putting my front suspension back together. I got some new upper control arms, they came with the bushings and ball joint installed.  My question is, there are 2 washer/ spacer on the stud of the ball joint . One is approx 1/4" and the other about 1/8. Do I put one on the bottom of the spindle and one on top?

No ball joint to spindle, 2 washers then nut. Factory nut is much taller is why you have 2 washers

You don't necessarily have to use both washers, you will use the flat washer(s) to adjust where the cotter pin hole lines up in the nut slot. If it's too high in the castle nut without a washer then put one or two washers under the nut so the hole is more centered in the slot of the nut.

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I went out of my way to find the taller nuts just to have more threads hanging on. I installed staggered off set bushings on mine before installing.
