wouldn't the factory have used red primer under that color?

Great work, love seeing a craftsman at work.   

However, between first primer and final clear he just about entirely lost the longitudinal body crease and the lower one near the bottom of the doors.  Original paint cars have a much more defined look that I've always wondered if modern base/clear systems can replicate it.  Maybe through some 'exaggerated bodywork' so when the final clear is on the crease looks original?
