Casting number 2406520, there is no mistaking the casting number, anyone have any info on these heads?

The intake ports are huge, there is no exhaust crossover on the intake side of the head....we were thinking max wedge heads, but this casting number does not come up anywhere in any of my books

anyone??

What are the valve sizes? No crossover sounds like Max Wedge but the number is ....?  Max Wedge exhaust valve is 1 7/8", no others have that valve.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

heads are still on the car, he says the valves are as big as Cleveland 4bbl valves, had to be special ordered...

here are some pics...he says he's been offered $5K for the heads from some guys

the small peanut plugs kinda throw a monkey wrench into the works for me

2408520 would be a 64 cross ram head, but that sure does look like a 6.

I asked him twice about the number, he says it's a 6 without a doubt....yet none of my books show that head number

Maybe the same guy stamping Hendrick's Daytona was setting the sand castings that day!  :brickwall: If it's an 8.. would be a '64 x 413 head. What is it currently bolted to?

Both heads have the same stamping? Might have to check the stamp under neath.

A383Wing

yes, both heads have same casting numbers....and engine is already all put together and in the car...

As far as I know, the only heads that used a 5/8 sparkplug were the later motorhome heads  :scratchchin:

yeah , what CHJ said  :coolgleamA:  :2thumbs:   ,  pull the intake & valley pan , might be able to read it with a mirror ,  the set of 452 heads ,  I bought to port & stuff , had no casting numbers on the top side by the springs , that made any sense  to the normal list of factory casting numbers , had to look on the underside , see green arrow

Since the exhaust ports are visible they can be measured. MW ports will measure about 1.25" X 1.7". Non MW will measure about 1.125" X 1.6".

I'm pretty sure you are on to it.  There is a part number and a casting number, sometimes the part number is cast on there. The '64 long ram heads would have no use for the exhaust crossover as the intake manifolds have no provision for it. And the tapered seat plugs.......they use the same thread as the gasket seat plugs and right or wrong they could be screwed into a gasket seat plug hole.

These are only guesses as its been almost 50 years since I've had in my hands on the long crossram heads.
