What is it with people who will try to sell something, whether it be here, other forums or more importantly Craig s List or EBay that don't post picture or post one really crappy one taken with a flip phone camera and no detail.
Case in point, a fellow trying to sell a car ... not a $50.00 car for parts - but a running, in decent shape car for $7500. His post will read something like "Car for sale, $7500". No detail, no picture.
Then everyone posts, how about pictures??? And after some days up comes one crappy, taken with an awful camera phone front-on shot of the car all washed out. Now there is a way to get me interested in what you are selling ... atta boy!
REALLY! You expect me to call you and say "I'll take it!"?????? Sight unseen. What are they thinking? IF you don't have time to add details and a few decent pictures, I don't have time to look  :rotz:

Unbelievable.   :RantExplode:

They just want you to call....then they have a good phone number....then they say I'll email better pictures to you ...then they have a good email address....almost all are scams...they sell the phone numbers and email addresses.....Craigs list is built to take advantage of pictures.....no picture...or no decent picture and I just pass them by.....

I can't tell you how many times I've bitched about the "no price" thing in public.   How the hell does that help sell a car?   It doesn't.
Whenever I see a car for sale without a price I say "that's nice" and move on.   I can see it if it's a rare car or something where you're gonna have plenty of people calling or wanting it.  But for just the average daily driver it's stupid.  :Twocents:

Are you aiming this rant at me?   :shruggy: its a pain to add pictures here, and I don't want to take up a lot of this forums space with pictures for someone that's not really interested.

Nope, not at you, no one I know in fact. I haven't even seen your post. One in particular is on another forum.
Saying email for pics is different. Plus now that I look at you parts post, it has descriptions.
I'm talking about the bone heads that say next to nothing with no price and pictures.
But here is one on CL http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/csw/cto/5378388588.html with no price.

:o. Now we all know Mike didn't post pictures of his car.    :nana:
I'm just busting your balls Mike.
Posting pictures here has always been a challenge.   :yesnod:

OK we're all good , seems as though I have hacked a few people off lately and didn't want to add you on the list. Happy New Year.

 LOL, no, it was a general rant because we recently were looking for a used car and you'd think we were asking for a tooth extraction when we asked for more pictures.  :shruggy:

Ahh, you are assuming that since they have access to technology and can use the computer they are smarter than the general population. The reality is a % of craigslist posters are the general population.

Maybe I am wrong, but equate computer use with an average or above average intellect. The past few years it seems that I find more and more examples of terrible grammar, punctuation and sentence structure. It just amazes me that these people are somehow able to operate a computer yet they have limited English skills.

have a look at what has been added to the dictionary ,look how many are text inspired.  each "next" generation  makes the language their own  :yesnod:

they all spend more time looking at and talking to each other on their phones than just about anything else ,  "texting" is second nature  and crosses over into their "normal" communications without them even knowing they are doing it .

I was listening to the news last night and they were talking about people walking around texting and falling down, knocking their head into something, stepping off the curb accidentally, falling onto subway tracks, all while talking or texting on the phone. It was funny actually. Except these people also drive.

I hate ads with little info, no engine size in a car/truck, or wheels/tires for sale with no tire sizes or lug pattern for wheels. My biggest pet peeve is... "only needs (fill in the blank), 30 dollar part at Autozone, and it will run like new." Really? If it only needs a cheap autozone part.... take your ass to Autozone, buy said part and install it!

Funny stuff. Sometimes I run want ads for old cars. I get a kick out of the guys that call (or email and want me to call them) with a car for sale, but won't send a picture. They want  you to drive to their location and look at the car. Usually in the middle of nowhere. Usually said car is overpriced based on the "phone" description. At this point in my life, I just pass and move on. I don't have time for wild goose hunts.

Funny story though, a buddy of mine about 10 years ago when to look at a '69 Barracuda conv, 360 six-pack, lime green with R/T tail stripe. Asked me if I wanted to go check it out. I turned my nose up at it as I thought it would be a POS. Turns out it was a nicely (quality wise, not taste wise) done car from the mid-seventies. Beside it was a triple black '68 Hemi GTX, 4-spd, numbers matching. The guy owned both and had started cutting up the GTX to race back in the day. My buddy bought both. Sold the Cuda and was in the GTX for nothing. He proceeded to sell off the race parts for the GTX and turned down some good offers for it. As in $40k for basically a shell. He still owns it, and I don't think has done anything at all to it. But, wants crazy money for a shell with the original Hemi that can't be put back on the street due to many race mods.

The Best Parts at a Fair Price

I find humor in the adds we are talking about and understand the frustration one gets when they need something and have to deal with this part of the market.

I also think that everything we may want or need is out there somewhere and without advertising (even by the idiots) the parts just sit where they are. :slap:

Looking for a part and dealing with an idiot may uncover other treasures that need a home and might help fund the search for what one needs.

If an idiot has what is needed the deal is with the idiot.---We can speak their language.

I've seen it quite a few times where the guy who says it's not perfect, this and this is wrong with it etc, ends up being really nice. The guy who says it is near perfect, nothing wrong, usually ends up being a dud.
