During the original airing of the DoH, a person could write into WB and get the General Lee's autograph.  Anyone have one? :popcrn:

I don't have a pic, but have seen one before, it was just a pic of the GL and across one of the lower corner of the pic, it had a tire track printed on it... that was the 'autograph'.

Haven't found an image of the actual postcard yet but apparently this is supposed to be whats printed on the back of them.

"The General Lee rolled off a Detroit assembly line in 1968 as a 1969 Dodge Charger, Ten Years later, Warner Bros. producers-looking for such a stock car that Bo Duke (John Schneider) and Luke Duke (Tom Wopat) would wheel and fly through every episode of "The Duke's Of Hazzard" Friday nights on CBS-TV- purchased the car for the new series. Bestowing gender and rank, they named him the General Lee, changed his color to a brilliant orange, put a confederate flag on his roof and painted a distinctive "01" on the side of both his doors. Equipped with a horn that toots the first twelve notes of "Dixie", the General Lee is powered by a 440 cubic inch Chrysler engine with an automatic transmission, chromed headers and valve cover with a 4-barrel carburetor and an aluminum intake manifold to boost acceleration. The frame is weighted at four strategic points and has been fitted with gas-type shock absorbers to keep the car level during impact landings and 180-degree turns. The General Lee sports 30″ Glass pak mufflers and Shelby rims that hold new radial tires with special inner tubes inserted. Since finding the General , Warner Bros.' band of mechanics have completely rebuilt him from the ground-up. Because he has become such a visible car on primetime television, with viewers writing in regularly for his picture, the General is probably the most famous automobile in America. All the actors and crew who work on "Dukes" at Warner Bros. fell affectionate toward 'him', as if he were a living being".

had a flash back  , seem to remember  reading about it , may be in one of the early 79 /80 dukes of hazard annuals as a kid , it mentioned the general lee had / has  it / his  own fan club  where fans are asking for the tire print or  they was sent a tire print ,   was years later when I saw a picture of one ,  seem to remember white card but seem to remember like what (JAAK) said  :coolgleamA:   soo long ago I cant really remember any more  :shruggy: :popcrn:

Ghoste

Could have been more than one too.

JB400

Seems it'd be a cool collectable for those that have one, since not many fans have one.  Thanks for the info.

Brock Lee

I have a couple of those around here somewhere. I have two different sizes..I am not sure if they did many different sizes over the years.
