Daimlerchrysler to Split?

Think it will happen?  I hope not before the challenger happens.  After that, they can merge with Nissan and not make anything even remotely nice again and I can start buying Fords and Chevs...

With the state of the automobile industry (well all industries), nothing would suprise me. Although stories of doom and gloom have circulated for years, none have materialized yet.
And I'm not touching any discussion of unfunded liabilities like pensions and medical with a 426 foot pole.
