Hi, joined yesterday! Not yet a Charger owner but looking for an resto project 69 (68 would do also as we don't get much choice in the UK but prefer 69!). It will probably have to be imported from mainland Europe or the US....expensive either way! Soon I will have the space to do it ....and the cash to buy it...if not restore it. This is going to be a long term project as I get the cash to do the "next job". I hope to be useful on here as , although I'm not yet an owner I do come from a motor trade back ground....so have reasonable tech knowledge especially on older cars. I'm an active member over on the Jeepforum.com with over 5000 posts to my name.....2004 lightly modified Grand Cherokee 2.7 CRD....and formally I was an active of the Alfa Romeo forum...hence my forum tag......with a near mint 2000 Alfa 156 2.5 V6 Veloce!
I'm not looking to do a concurs rebuild but a modified Charger with the looks and motor (hopefully a 440) of the Charger but with modern brakes wheels paint etc (is that the sound of the purists throwing themselves in front of a truck I hear!!???). Getting parts takes a long time in the UK (if you think parts are expensive in the US you aint seen nothing!!) So is will be a long term project with a thread on here that I hope some of you will follow....I do all of my own work (bodywork, mechanics etc) except paint. In the meantime I will do my best to help out around here! Thanks for looking.

By the way......is this the only forum in the world that does not have an Android app....or
am i just looking in the wrong place? I do a lot of my surfing on my Samsung Tab3 and my Samsung S3 mini phone......world just be so much easier with an app that makes things the right size to read without zooming in and out. Plus it would make things a lot easier if you want to post photos taken on a phone or tablet....just saying!

Welcome.  Purists?  Once it is your car, you can do what you like.  :yesnod:  But there is a line - probably something like putting in a chevy engine.   :eek2:

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I missed have missed that. Where is the new member thread? I looked for an "Introducing yourself" type thread as many forums have but had no luck. Can someone link me to it? Cheers.

I don't know where the introducing thread is, but I think WS23rt was implying that THIS ONE is the MEW members thread.

I was thinking back, and I think my maternal grandfather had a thing for Alfas  He had an alfetta that someone destroyed and tried to blow up (lit rag in gas tank) to get him out of Greece and he had one from the late 40's early 50's that my mom said smelled of castor oil and had been raced in a previous life (mille miglia??).

I was just making play out of the typo in the title of this thread.---Mew---

The Cat stuff thread in --The lighter side-- section was what I was thinking about.

Looking at what I said again from a new poster's point of view does indeed make for some head scratching. :scratchchin: --I apologize.  :slap:

Ahhhhh! Gotcha. Have changed the title (although its only changed on the first post I notice)....never mind. Sorry but I do make the odd speeling mistack!

Welcome!

As someone who just bought his dream charger from the other side of the pond(from Hungary) can tell you that you want to get all your parts stash in your car and get them shipped together!A lot of nice and helpfull guys over here who would keep your car for a few weeks! This is what i do.
I have a list of parts worth $10k so far and can not imagine paying for shipping and tax on them!

Luckily your laws are much more lenient then ours,so finding a charger shouldn't be a problem for you since no numbers matching BS required for you!
