                            so on todays world news a  lying Politian( no names    ) has evidently been caught out at it "big time"    

                           how does it work over there ? here their political career would be over no-one would vote for them   

                       for while you expect to be lied to by a politician its a different thing for them to do it and be caught and not be repentant

People still vote for them regardless. People are so desperate for change that they still voted in Obama in despite his constant flip flopping on issues. I guess change is what they wanted, and change is what they got, just not sure whether it was the change everyone was expecting.

When people's preferred candidate gets caught lying, they rationalize it.  It wasn't so bad.  The press is out to get them.  The candidate was just doing what it takes to survive in that world.  Don't hate the player, hate the game.


When people don't like that candidate, then dishonesty becomes a travesty.  An outrage.  It's proof how immoral the other party is.  It shows how dangerous their voters are for even considering such a person.
 


Same with govt spending.  The party bitching about overspending is always the one out-of-power.  The bitching will reverse sides as soon as the power shifts.   There is always enough money for what I want done.  There is never enough money for what the other side wants done.

In America, a lie is only a lie in the eyes of the voter if the lie disagrees with the voter's preconceived notions. Since any savvy politician panders to their voter base, they know that their voter base will suck up any lie as long as it fits their way of thinking.

Unfortunately lying is part of the game.  That's why I always say you have to vote for the person you think is telling the MOST truth.     
Pretty sad isn't it?    I'm trying to pick my words carefully on this subject.    
When you tell people what they want to hear even if it turns out you were lying, people seem to overcome it easily.   It's almost like we're willing to overlook imperfections to have a strong leadership.   And, are these lies actually out & out lies or bad information?   I'm sure it's very similar in your country.

  but to be incompetent enough to be caught       is like putting blood in the water when the sharks are circling 

    and then to try to defend it by saying that that's what" their " saying on twitface or whatever its called
