They "found" it in a car shelter.. and now it's in a barn with hay pitch forked all around it!  :brickwall: Was it not hard to place those round bails the past 30 years with that car in the way!

My Charger had green moss growing on it & house for mice, rats, cats, ect. I should push it in a barn, take a pic & call it a barn find. Should make it worth double then. LEON.

birdsandbees

Build a car port over it Leon.. makes it worth double and you get to keep the shelter!

I really liked this story at first but like birdsandbees mentioned that the "barn find" factor was BS. Look at those wonderful pics taken of that Daytona just sitting there in a barn next to the bails of hay. And oh let's throw in a live barn animal as a prop. Give me an FN break! I'm so sick of this barn find BS. It's ruining the car restoration hobby IMO. I swear people go all out of their way so that they can consider it a "barn find". Examples:

A pole building in the back yard on a suburban property, a barn find.

A service shop/garage in a deserted town, a barn find.

An attached garage in a rural area, a barn find.

A 2nd gen. un-restored Charger sitting in a pristine garage and then towed to an old building or even a barn to take pics, a barn find.

Okay I'm done venting

Why or what makes a barn find worth anymore then a non barn find is what I'd like to know? Anybody know the answer to this?  :shruggy: LEON.

Am I out of the loop on the values of Daytonas ? Weren't there real nice running/driving Daytonas for sale on this board for low/mid $100k's ?
Def staged into that position for pics , tires still full of air ?????? Seems very high expectations for what it is going to bring . I would think $50-70k .
There is a red one here in Ct that the owner told me he would take $70k for it , and by the way he described it , it is nicer than this barn find car . This was 2 years ago .

Oh look, it's a marine container find! Almost forgot I'd put it in there 14 years ago...  :smilielol:

Wow. If I really wanted to sell my Q5 Daytona, I would want it in that auction. The ridiculously-high reserve I would place on it would seem like a bargain compared to this one!   :icon_smile_big:

with the following quote?

QuoteWe know that relatively few Daytonas were built with bucket seats, automatic transmission, and a console, and this is one of them.

So let me get this straight, they want $150,000 - $180,000 for that car as is, unrestored?  :smilielol:  :slap:  I guess there's an a$$ for every seat. Will be interesting to see what it sells for.
