My 440 stalls as soon as i come above 3000 rpm

This problem occured  yesterday.
It drives good under 3000 rpm.
I have a new proform 750 dp carb,new fuelpump and lines.
Have a brand new firecore50 rtr ignition system.
What could it be?
Anyone have had the same issue?

I had a similar issue where mine was cutting out at a higher RPM and when it was hot.  I only had a 600 cfm carb and a 1/4" fuel line, so I believe mine was a combination of fuel starvation and evaporation.

I'm assuming heat is not your issue.  Have you changed your fuel pump rod (if manual pump)? What size are your lines?

I was thinking coil too.  The fuel pump pushrod isn't a bad idea to check out also...

Coil, fuel pump rod, or float setting would be the first things to check.

Fuellines and carb are fine 
The floatsetting is also good.
I think my fuelpump is good too.I replaced it less than 200 miles ago.
Might check the coil tomorrow.I have a newone on the shelf so i'll swap it out.

Yes,i'm still running a ballast resistor.

First thing to do is remove the ballast resistor and tie the green and brown wires (if stock wiring) together, no longer needed.

Then replace the coil and see if that helps, especially if it is older.

:iagree:I had that problem this past summer and replaced the pump.  It was only after taking out the pump and measuring the pump rod that I saw that It was nearly 1/4 "short from wear.  That length was enough to run low rpms but not enough to keep up higher rpms.  See how short the one end of the fuel pump pushrod is on my pic below.

Well,yesterday i finally found some time to work on the charger again.
I ordered a hardened fuelpump rod from hughes engines and ordered a mechanical carter HV fuelpump.
I've replaced them yesterday,and i also notised that i had a small leak on the fuelline,so i fixed that too.
The rod was indeed worn by 1 cm so that alone made a huge difference.

The result is i've made my first burnout in 2016

I've replaced them yesterday,and i also notised that i had a small leak on the fuelline,so i fixed that too.
