So I've got my 68 Coronet with SS Springs installed and it's time to step up to the 1.03" T bars up front. I'm looking for a good shock for the front and rear that would be best suite for a good all around street/strip setup. I think I need 25(Extended)" or so rear shocks and then stock front shocks. I'm seeing the Qa1's or Fox's maybe? Do I need to look for E body rear shock to get the right length?

Not trying to get the car to run AutoX but trying to get a good shock/T bar setup with the SS springs so I can drive around in a car that doesnt feel like a covered wagon(KYB Shocks) and still hit the track every once and a while.

If you don't need adjustable, I like Bilsteins - PST and Firm Feel sell them.

E body and B body shocks are the same, so no difference there. I know a lot of SS spring users will convert to Imperial or D100 shocks for the extra length. Rancho RS5000 adjustables were a real popular SS spring shock back in the 90s because of its adjustability and reasonable price.

If you decide on QA1 or Fox, talk to a rep to make sure they have the availability of lengths to match what you have, even if it is stock height.

Do you want an adjustable to tinker with settings or do you want to set it and forget it? You'll need to narrow that down before talking to reps.

If you want strip performance that doesnt wash on the street, then you will need double adjustables. Any brand will do since you are not looking for a dedicated drag car.

Mancini Racing sells shocks made just for SS springs..bought a set for my Dart..much better.  :2thumbs:
