was looking for info on torque plates and while doing a google search  came across several links to forums where they were saying to bolt a bell housing to the block as well as using the torque plates when machining , and  this is the ONLY way to ensure correct block dimensions . is there any truth to this   :shruggy:

Not buying it.

Bell-housing bolts are few, mostly far from the cylinders, and have comparatively less torque on them. If we were to worry about the bell, why not install the oil pump, water pump housing, motor mounts, and starter while we're at it?
